Expressions in a metalanguage are often distinguished from those in an object language by the use of italics, quotation marks, or writing on a separate line.

How To add Sidebar Blogger Widget With Automatic Changing Ads Banners

Hey there, I was lately asked by one of my readers on how to add automatic changing banners to either blogger sidebar or footer bar. Well! have you ever wondered how you could put several ads banner in one widget?. Yes indeed it's very simple and by the way this widget could help you keep you blog clean and somehow awesome.

The widget is a java script coded which works in amazing way. It allows you to tidy your sidebars, footer bars as well as the header bar widgets not forgetting you can also set the ratio value to you needs and according to your blog theme style too.

I have come across most blog and frankly I got frustrated on how their theme style appears. First the blog page would load much slower and then finally you get this picture with clumsy look-no offense though. That indeed can scare away your visitors as it doesn't give that willing of the visitors coming back again to read your blog. Also it will be troublesome viewing your blog through other devices. such as smartphone and tablet also mobile phones.

For a advice before using this widget, I would suggest you to please try and choose responsive themes that would easily load faster through different browsers and devices too.

Okay, with that well noted let's see how you can use this widget:

Step one: Copy and paste the below code in your notepad for editing
-----start blogakona.blogspot.com---
<script language="JavaScript">
images = new Array(2);
images[0] = "<a href = 'ENTER URL FOR SITE 0' rel='nofollow' target='_blank'><img src='ENTER URL FOR BANNER 0' border='0' height='200px' width='600px' alt='Banner Title'></a>";
images[1] = "<a href = 'ENTER URL FOR SITE 2' rel='nofollow' target='_blank'><img src='ENTER URL FOR BANNER 1' border='0' height='200px' width='600px' alt='Banner Title'></a>";

index = Math.floor(Math.random() * images.length);
document.write(images[index]);
</script
----end blogakona.blogspot.com----
Step #2: Find the coloured section for customization, Keep in mind after pasting this code in your notepad the colours will disappear therefore use this post are reference when editing.

Step #3: Change the coloured section to your desire needs:-

  • images = new Array(2); This section defines the number of banners to be displayed, therefore if displaying for than two banners then there is need to change the value.
  • images[0] = This helps you to name which banner corresponds to the specific given banner code. Therefore it's important to label each banner to avoid editing confusion. What you need to do is to change the [0] value- you can also use alphabet(a,b,c...) or roman numerical(i.ii,iii..).
  • ENTER URL FOR SITE 0 Change this section with your site URL(e.g yourdomain.com)
  • ENTER URL FOR BANNER 0 Change this section with you banner image URL.
  • To configure height and width (height='200px' width='600px') change the value of px to you desire set.
  • Banner title are importance to set too, so go a head and change Banner Title with your own words.
The above code only shows two section of banners as displayed below:
images[0] = "<a href = 'ENTER URL FOR SITE 0' rel='nofollow' target='_blank'><img src='ENTER URL FOR BANNER 0' border='0' height='200px' width='600px' alt='Banner Title'></a>";
images[1] = "<a href = 'ENTER URL FOR SITE 2' rel='nofollow' target='_blank'><img src='ENTER URL FOR BANNER 1' border='0' height='200px' width='600px' alt='Banner Title'></a>";

Therefore to add more than two banner codes copy either one of the code above and paste below the second code as shown in the diagram below. Repeat this procedure to whatever number of codes you want.

Uploading to blogger widget:

First go to you blogger account and sign in as usual, then proceed to you blogger dashboard and no further from that.
  • Open HTML/JAVASCRIPT widget, This can be from whatever position you want the banner to appear.
  • Copy the code from notepad and paste it in the widget.
  • Save the widget
  • Reload you blog to see the effect
The effect can be noticed each time a page is loaded a different banner image appears.

And there you are. Well done. any help just comment below and i will reach out to you as soon as I can.

How to change blog (columns) width

Halo folks, let's see how you wish you could widen the sidebar to make way for your newly acquired widget, or increase the post area width so you can reduce the post area height, or you wonder if you could use the empty spaces on the left and right sides of your blog.

This tutorial we will see how to reduce or increase the sizes in most of regular layout templates, for some some heavy hectic designed template.

Before we continue let me explain about what constitutes a basic Blogger layout template.
Refer to the diagram on the left, the section are colored and lebaled for easy understanding.

The biggest box in a layout is outer-wrapper. Inside outer-wrapper are smaller boxes, and inside these smaller boxes are the elements.

The relationships:

  • header-wrapper –contains header, with header picture etc.
  • main-wrapper –contains main section. Inside main we have blog posts.
  • sidebar-wrappers –contains sidebars, with widgets etc.
  • footer-wrapper –contains footer.

To increase the width of a box, you have make sure whether the outer box can accommodate the increase. Otherwise you have to increase the outer box width too.

Now let’s proceed to CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) section of your template code. What you will find is usually like this:

#header-wrapper {
width:660px;
margin:0 auto 10px;
border:1px solid $bordercolor;
}
------------------------------

#outer-wrapper {
width: 660px;
margin:0 auto;
padding:10px;
}
------------------------------

#main-wrapper {
width: 410px;
}
------------------------------

#sidebar-wrapper {
width: 220px;
}
------------------------------

#footer {
width:660px;
}

Make sure you choose the codes I have shown here to not confuse. The code may look a bit clamsy for beginners but step by step you can do it.

Let’s go by an example:  you want to increase your blog post (main-wrapper) width by 100px and the sidebar by 50px.  Check the steps below to help you go through customization:

  1. Change the width of main-wrapper from 410px to (410+100)px = 510px.
  2. Do the same for sidebar, except adding only 50px. The new sidebar width should be 270px.
  3. Keep in mind what you need to know about the boxes, for instance the outer box for main-wrapper and sidebar. Refer to the diagram,and you get outer-wrapper.
  4. Increase the width of outer-wrapper by the total amount. So you should add (100+50)px to 660px. The new width is 810px.

That’s it!

N/B You can change and add values as you wish.

Let' me know if you hit trouble.

How To Get your mobile site up to speed With DoubleClick

An engineer knows that every decision can impact performance, so projects must be
continually assessed to develop the optimal design. It’s like keeping a bike fast— you have to
keep tuning it up, or else you’ll end up with a slow mode of transportation.
Your mobile site is no different. Improving your mobile site speed requires clear assessment
of the problem, executing solutions and monitoring impact. The good news is that the tools
to improve mobile speed are easily accessible. This guide will walk through the steps you
can take to get your site up to speed.

To learn why mobile speed matters, visit g.co/MobileSpeed

1. Measure your site’s performance

Before you try to fix anything, you need to assess your site and learn what exactly
is slowing it down. These tools provide the best measurement and metrics for mobile speed.

  • PageSpeed Insights analyzes your site performance, scoring its speed and user experience and identifies issues to fix. The best practice is a score of 85 or above.
  • Webpagetest provides a Speed Index that indicates the average time at which visible parts of the page are displayed. Aim for a Speed Index of 3,000 or less and load time of 10 seconds or less — ideally 1-5 seconds.
  • User Timing API allows you to generate custom metrics for business-specific needs.
  • Google Analytics Site Speed reports offer insights into how quickly users are able to see and interact with content, as well as what the drop off points are.
  • Chrome DevTools is a versatile real-time tool for evaluating your website’s performance right in the browser. You can simulate network and CPU speeds, examine network loading details and see how your site’s code is impacting your page.
  • Mobile-Friendly Test is designed specifically for mobile sites. This tool analyzes exactly how mobile-friendly the site is, and focuses on elements beyond speed as well.

2. Assess the different components impacting speed

To fix mobile speed at a technical and organizational level, you need to examine your ads, content and tech architecture.

Reduce the size of your pages.

  • Target 50 or fewer requests and 1,000 or fewer bytes to optimize load time.
  • Compress and select efficient images, and prioritize download of visible content.

Assess the ads and trackers running on your page.

  • Use a tool to measure the bandwidth and latency impact of pixels and other elements on your pages (eg. Ghostery). Evaluate if trackers are needed and used, and if they provide enough benefit.
  • Review latency of your ad partners, especially those delivering video ads, and remove low performing monetization partners.

3. Prioritize the order your site loads

Speed is more than just a number. Instead of asking “What does slow mean?”, ask “What does the user feel?” This user perception is the main driver of movement for lower bounce rates and more engagement. Make sure your site is loading in the optimal order for mobile performance— even one piece out of place can make a huge difference in speed.

Prioritize loading elements that are visible above the fold first.

Minimize the amount of pieces that show above the fold of visible content. Load styling, javascript logic and images that are only accessed after direct interaction later.

Enable HTTPS and HTTP/2.

Support Support modern HTTPS to provide site integrity, encryption, authentication, and better user
experience. More than 1-in-3 of top 100 sites run on modern HTTPS, and a quarter of them use HTTPS by default.

Limit server requests where possible.

Each mobile page makes an average of 214 server requests,3 some of which happen simultaneously and some that can only happen one after the other. Review each request on your site to understand the benefit it provides.

4. Test, remeasure, repeat to improve your site speed

Once you’ve run diagnostics and executed changes, it’s important to keep testing it to ensure these speed gains only improve. There are a few steps you can take to make sure you keep your mobile site at top speed:

  • Continually assess your ad-related calls to remove low performing monetization partners.
  • Pick third-party ad-tech partners with lower latency.
  • Remove or reduce any bulky content.
  • Consolidate data and analytics tags.
  • Investigate open-source tools such as Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) and
  • Progressive Web Apps (PWA).
53% of mobile site visits
are abandoned if a page takes
longer than 3 seconds to load.

Mobile speed matters. With these steps to increase your mobile speed, you can keep users engaged for longer and increase your mobile revenue opportunity.

How To Start a Blog – Simple Beginner’s Guide for 2017

So, you also want to start your own blog huh!, that's the dumpiest idea you have today lol, am not kidding, it's better you do chicken farming maybe, lol or something else. Well it's still a good idea if you still consider starting up a blog and by the way it's very easy. I do recommend you to start one today though.

Anyways to keep you well informed blogging has never been easy for most people around the world. I live in Tanzania and I do my blog in English ( it's trouble worth a price) since it's the only best language am somehow good at but still it's a challenge leave alone the issue with language barrier but also the response of people understanding the blogging community around here. In Tanzania we have hundreds if not tens of blogs but if you try scooping in them and to find that one blog that will suite you need is a heck of job.

In this simple tutorial I just want to show my fellow Tanzanians and other folks around on how you can START A BLOG and be at the top if you want to.

Let's highlight some few point that we're going to use.

  • Choosing A Niche/Title: You have to be very careful with what topic you are going to deal with. 1st look around and do some background checking to see what title people are much interested with. For example in Tanzania, people like reading about gossips both local and international and somehow about football too. Also you have to choose the topic of which you will be comfortable with. Don't just take any topic because people like it.
  • Choosing Domain Name: With domain, you must consider the title of you blog. They should much to improve you google ranking and also for people easily recognize. It will be awkward if blog title is HOW TO START A BLOG then you domain has  different name. Make sure you choose a easy to remember name and it should to long.
  • Choosing Blogging Platform: There are hundreds of blogging platform and new ones are coming out year by year. All this is about the competition of the blogging market and coming up with new tools. All in all we still have the major platforms that has been on top for century. Platform such Blogspot, Wordpress and Tumblr are the most famous one. Do a review of all platform before deciding which one to use. This is to avoid future regrets.
  • Hosting Providers: Blogspot provide free hosting services all you need to do is finding a domain and customize you blog to your desire. With Wordpress the do have two options of one being free hosted account with limited hosting package and a premium hosting account of which you pay in three two different rates depend on you needs. Furthermore you can still use BLUEHOST which is much cheaper and has many offers to choose from. With BlueHost you can still install Wordpress in it.

  • Choosing Themes/Template: The most important thing is the look of your site. No matter what you do or what kind of content you have the looks of you site will help drive traffic to our blog much easily. Although Blogspot and Wordpress and Tumblr all have free template for their visitor you still need to find the best theme to suite you blog content. Only with Blogspot will be able to play with HTML coding if you have knowledge in that. So  you can down your blogger theme either it's free or premium from ESSYTHEMES and direct install to you blogger account. If you need Wordpress themes for your blog download them here at THEMESTZ.
  • Tool and Resource: Knowing the right tools use on you blog if very important. Use email widgets to collect you visitor email and have interaction with them. Showing popular post in you blog is one way of showing how active you blog content is.
  • Monezation of Blog Content: So you have completed setting up you blog and you want to earn from it.! The best way is to monetize you blog by joining AFFIALIATE PROGRAM or Use ADSENSE OR ZHAKKAS to show ADS on your blog. You can also decide which payment method you would prefer to get paid from companies around the globe. Try PAYONEER it works fine with me.

And that’s it! and as simple as that,  I’m more than confident now that your initial blog set up should now be finished and ready to go, and all that should have been really damn easy. If you are having any problems installing WordPress In BlueHost please just get in touch and I will be glad to walk you through that.

If by some unfortunate circumstance you get stuck or have any questions for me about how to create a blog, just get in touch with me or leave a comment below. I’ll help you out with any problems.

Starting up a blog is not stupid it's just dump if you have no idea of what you are doing. Enjoy your new blog!

How To Make Money From Blogging

Hi folks, I hope doing good today once again, well if you are believer the thank God, if you are not then i just don't care or even mind lol...whoooshh I say to much. Anyways today am writing another text on HOW TO MAKE MONEY FROM BLOGGING . Ouuch! everyone likes that topic eehh lol.

If you want to make money from blogging, creating a popular blog that readers would like and come back to read regularly is the first key to your success and you will have loads of money flowing into your account but if your blog receives very little traffic then "kabooom" you will not have much success generating money from it. No matter which method you use to make money from your blog, only a large number of audience has to be considered.

So, How Am I Going To Make My Blog Popular

There are many ways to make your blog more popular. The  first step you should check is to understand who your audience is, and of course to make sure you always write about something they like, but that interests you, so you can produce more. Blogging is a business, and would help you generate real income. You should deal with blogging as a way of entrepreneurship like starting a blog, is more-less like starting a business.

One of the great things about blogging is that you do not have to be a professional writer to have a great blog. You do have to obey common grammatical rules and at least be able to put together coherent sentences, but you do not have to be a highly skilled writer.

Make sure what you write is interesting. Most popular blogs are never boring and add value to reader’s lives either through information or entertainment. Make sure your blog helps your readers somehow, and brings something useful, new, educating or entertaining to their lives.

Making your blog popular is a lot like driving traffic to a website. There are a lot of techniques you will be using to drive traffic, SEO is one of them, you can also use many of the same techniques to drive traffic to your blog. Finding places to link back to your blog is a good way to drive traffic. Social sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Youtube provide lots of opportunities for this. For social bookmarking I would prefer you use sites such as Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Digg to promote your blog.

Using blogging platforms such as Wordpress, Tumblr and Blogger are also good ways to make your blog more popular as these blogging sites help to bring in traffic for your blog.

How To Make Money From Blogging:

Starting up

Whether you blog on a blogging network or you have an independently hosted blog, you need to make sure your blog is designed well. It is true that content is king and if a blog has great content is may receive lots of traffic even though it is ugly, having a well designed blog that is not ugly or annoying will help to drive repeat traffic. You want your blog to look unique and have a clear view with most awesome templates/themes.

Check This Sites for best blogging themes/templates: blog-papers.com & TenThemes.com

If  you plan to using wordpress then you can either go with free plan or choose the premium plan. Wordpress can host itself but if you another host on behave of wordpress then i would recommend BlueHostTo get started, signup for a hosting plan from Bluehost's different plans and start getting your blog set.

Blogspot is always a free hosting platform, the only need you may require is get your own domain.

No matter where your blog is hosted, you should try to get it indexed by all the major search engines. Some forms of blog monetization require that your blog be indexed by search engines before they will allow you to participate in your program. The higher ranked your blog is, the more visitors you will receive and the more popular your blog will become.

Monetizing Blog Using Ads

All forms of monetization for your blog require readers to work successfully. Before you try to implement your monetization strategies, make sure your blog has enough readers to make your efforts work. If there is no one to click your ads, visit your affiliate sites, or read your reviews, you do not stand much of a chance of making money.

Adsense:

One of the best ways to monetize your blog is Adsense, and this advertising program will work with just about any blog and if you receive enough traffic, it can be very lucrative.

Adsense puts relevant re-targeted ads on your blog, this requires some basic HTML knowledge and a blog that allows you to modify the HTML in order to add the piece of code that will show ads.

Ads are displayed based on the content of your blog, so readers only see ads that will likely appeal to them, increasing the chances that they will click on them.

Adsense operates by pairing relevant ads with your content. As long as your blog has enough content to support a few text ads, you will be able to run a few non intrusive ads along the side of your blog.

To get started signup with Adsense . It is free to use Adsense and if you have an existing Google account you can use it as your Adsense account as well. Signing up with Adsense is free, but you must provide tax information and report your earnings.If you do not have a large readership base, most types of monetization on your blog will probably not be successful and Adsense is no exception. The more people you have clicking your ads, the more money you make. Earnings will vary widely depending on how many visitors you receive and if your blog is very popular you can make a good income from Adsense alone.

Other Options

There are plenty of other advertising options if you do not want to go with Adsense. Just google “Adsense alternatives” and you will find a long list of other advertising opportunities that will help you generate a revenue from blogging. Some work in much the same way as Adsense, others provide inline ads or banners. You should try a few different advertising programs to see which one works the best for your blog.

I could also recommend you to use Zhakkas for Ad Networks or Read about Zhakkas HERE

Some advertising opportunities are similar to Adsense and display text ads; others display contextual ads, the double underline words in the body of your text, and others work with graphic ads. Here is a list of other advertising sources for your blog, any of which may be the perfect advertising solution for you.

Ad networks are companies that connect advertisers with publishers (in our case: bloggers). These companies act as an intermediary between advertisers and publishers, negotiating partnership details between the two. The ad network takes a percentage from the partnership profit.

Reviews and sponsored posts

Reviews and sponsored posts are also a good way to make money from blogging, these are articles you write about a product, and you get money from writing about it. The company pays you to tell your readers audience about it and eventually drive sales.

Affiliate Marketing

Ads may seem a not-so-good way to monetize your blog. It's not fun, and it doesn't make your brain and skills work. Affiliate marketing can be a great way to generate some revenue from your blog.

If you can find an affiliate product that is relevant to the topic of your blog and you do a good job of slipping it in, you can stand to make some tidy profits. Affiliate marketing generally pays more per sale than you would make per click with other forms of advertising, but you have to have visitors that both click on your affiliate link and purchase the product, the more sales you generate, the more money you make.

The best way to make sure readers purchase the affiliate products you market is to pick products your audience will be interested in and that are relevant to your blog. If you blog about fishing, chances are no one will respond to your affiliate marketing attempts at selling SEO services.

Make sure the product you are trying sell will appeal to your readers and that you can do a good job of including it in your blog without seeming to preachy or desperate. Keep your marketing attempts natural and make sure they fit in with the flow of your blog.

If you want to find specific affiliate for you blog niche I would advice to search the web for that. Just keep in mind what kind of affiliate you would like to use in accordance with your blog content or else you can still decide to choose wherever affiliate you desire.

So if you were wondering how you can get income from blogging then i have given you the points about. You have the option now of making money online. Let me know folks if you wanna get more ideas for this topic.
